NZ Hops has announced the release of a new hop cultivar, Nectaron®.

The hop is a result of 17 years of research and work by a team of horticulture specialists at Plant & Food Research, led by plant geneticist Dr Ron Beatson.

Grower Forum and AGM

Our AGM and Grower Forum on the 17th of July 2020 was a real tribute to the 150 years of hop growing in New Zealand. The forum involved a fantastic launch of our new Master Brand and our new hop variety, Nectaron®Argentinian food truck, Viva La Vaca provided our hungry hop heroes with a delicious lunch feast, and Sprig and Fern providing their new Nectaron® Pale Ale in launch of our new variety.A great event to celebrate our amazing Growers and to get excited about the future in NZ Hops Ltd.

21st July 2020 Introducing our new master brand As someone with an interest in beer, and our hop industry here in Nelson, we (the New Zealand Hops co-operative) are excited to bring you our new brand. We are now known simply as NZ Hops Ltd, and our stunning new logo demonstrates this with simplicity - along with the symbolic hop Bract. The bract, as part of one hop, functions as a protective and binding shield by interlocking with several others to encompass the aromatic magic beneath the shell.
